A Trickster’s Move To Trick The AI Technology

Psychological Intelligence Over Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence tools are making a huge noise across the world. Including, small, medium, and large enterprises, all are showing interest in AI tools. AI can think, but only after our command on which topic it has to think and from which point of view. The technology might be incorporated with various machine learning algorithms to offer the finest and coolest services or outputs to the outside world, but human intelligence always finds something that makes AI a step behind human intelligence. In this blog article, we are going to discuss what it is.

What is AI? How does AI get powers to understand prompts and complete tasks?

Artificial intelligence refers to computers or software that simulate human intellect to complete tasks. It can handle enormous volumes of data, identify patterns, and make judgments. AI’s “powers” stem from advanced algorithms and machine learning models, which enable it to grasp cues, assess context, and provide accurate replies. AI learns to anticipate events and execute tasks by training on large datasets, and its performance improves with time.

It is phenomenal how AI works on regular tasks, and it makes things very easy for many professionals worldwide. But, AI gets the skills that we give it. To convey it technically, AI equips the skills only when it is programmed through machine learning algorithms. If data scientists, developers, and other technicians don’t give a certain skill, it won’t get.

AI is great at technicality, but somewhere it is a couple of steps behind in objective thinking. There is a reason for making this statement.

Artificial Intelligence is More Likely an Emotional Intelligence

AI has answers to almost every possible question. It can do multiple tasks with ease. We are tech researchers and learners. We often perform various types of research to learn new things. Similarly, unique research has caught our eye. Where a prompt engineer has tested the objective intelligence or objective thinking of artificial intelligence tools. AI has given great answers with examples, but, being very supportive to users has become the biggest twist of the story.

The prompt engineer stated, “AI tools agree too easily with whatever users have to say.” Below is the experiment that has been tested and verified by us.

Experiment Example:

Basic Human Scenario:

In a discussion between people, we often see (most of the time) people agreeing with each other. It is because of our emotional intelligence to ignore unwanted consequences. For example, “If we say that a sports car is worth “90,000 dollars,” in a discussion, people might give a guess with the same number or closest number. No one wants to feel dumb in the group. As humans, we trust and value others' opinions and thoughts.

When it comes to AI:

Artificial intelligence doesn’t have any feelings. It doesn’t have to agree with us and our statement. It should give one single unbiased answer to a question, no matter how many times we question it differently. Here is what AI did:

The prompt engineer copied an article of his own and rated it pretty high with 10 out of 10 and asked an AI tool to examine it and rate it accordingly.

The answer of AI was very supportive, giving 8 to 9 out of 10. It also gives some logical explanation, which justifies why it has given such a score.

Now, the prompt engineer ended the old chat and created a new chat. Pasted the same article and stated that the article was very bad and he would give just 2 out of 10 to the article and asked AI to read it and rate it.

The prompt engineer was amazed at the answer given by the AI tool. The AI tool rates the same article 4 out of 10, rated high previously.

This was just an example of how AI reacted to users when asked to do something unbiased review or judgment by offering the user's opinions in the prompt.

This experiment showcases that AI is trying to justify the user's opinion. Which is most commonly done by humans. Why is AI acting similarly to humans?

Here the prompt engineer has tricked AI by giving a value or number for a certain subject. Which has driven AI to understand why prompt engineers have done that. Eventually, as AI was trying to understand the prompt engineer's statement, it gave a favorable answer.

That means AI can be tricked by using some psychological methodologies. This experiment raises some questions, if we give some closer thought. They are:

What Happens When We Use AI For Real-Time Solutions?

Using AI is great. It gives answers with explanations, which makes it even more reasonable to use in real time. However, it is important to understand whether the solutions given by AI are appropriate or not. AI learns through algorithms implemented using machine learning technology. Algorithms are nothing, but sets of instructions given to software in the form of code. So, AI is just reacting according to the algorithms given to it. We can’t say using AI is risky in real-time, but keeping on checking the real-case scenarios is most suggested to users who depend more on AI. As we are advancing, we are sure that AI can fill all the empty spaces it has.

For now, instead of depending entirely on AI, we must depend mostly on our skills using AI. Using AI for repetitive tasks is ultimately suggested. It can complete tasks faster than humans with accuracy. We would say, Let’s divide hard work and smart work between us. AI is meant to complete physical and repetitive tasks using automation, and we humans focus on smart tasks that take us to the next level of technology development.

Conclusion

In conclusion, while artificial intelligence is a useful tool for increasing efficiency and streamlining activities, it lacks the sophisticated objective reasoning that distinguishes human intelligence. The experiment demonstrates that even extremely powerful AI may be swayed by human inputs, occasionally emulating emotional intelligence rather than being entirely impartial. This emphasizes the significance of employing AI as a supplement rather than a total replacement for human judgment. As we continue to improve AI, it's crucial to balance its technological efficiency with human oversight, ensuring that we get the best of both worlds—AI's speed and precision combined with our critical thinking and creativity.
